John S. Knight Fellowship at Stanford University

I am currently based at Stanford, one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions. As a John S. Knight fellow, I am exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on the information ecosystem, focused particularly on news, journalism and elections.

At Stanford, I am working on a range of projects around tech, information and media:

  • Building and prototyping AI tools for reporters and editors in collaboration with my JSK colleague Kaveh Waddell and partners at the Computer Science department and NLP group

  • Developing AI strategies for media organizations, including workshops and training programs for newsrooms

  • Exploring the potential of AI for leadership training, designing my own chatbot to practice difficult conversations

  • Researching AI policy, ethics and election integrity, learning to code in Python, and building skills in entrepreneurship and business development

Please reach out if you want to learn more! My email is pswanson@stanford.edu.

The JSK Fellowship is a highly selective ten month long program that aims to improve the public's access to information by fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership in media.
