Social video series on transparency:
Questions for the newsroom
In November 2022, I planned and launched a social video series focused on transparency in the newsroom at ORF. The aim was to have our journalists answer difficult but crucially important questions about their work as journalists, especially concerning the influence of the government and of political parties on our reporting.
For this new series on transparency, I worked with an audience outreach approach: We asked for questions about our journalistic work on Instagram Stories and then answered the most common requests in the videos.
Questions for the Newsroom:
"How independent are we really?"
Questions for the Newsroom:
"How do we Decide What to Cover?"
Questions for the Newsroom:
"How do we Conduct our Interviews?"
The Road to the White House:
Special report on the U.S. election in 2020
In the run-up to the U.S. presidential election in 2020, I developed, hosted and produced an in-depth series of reports for television and Instagram Stories.
Together with my colleague Christophe Kohl, I reported from the swing states of the Midwest - from Minnesota through Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and down to Washington, DC.
This special report was a big success. It was used in Austrian schools to teach students about politics in the United States and the importance of the election.
European refugee crisis:
Using facts to inform the public debate
During the European refugee crisis in 2015 and in the following years, I produced a series of videos that showcased the most important facts about the asylum system and the situation of refugees in Austria.
These videos were viewed millions of times on Facebook and played an important role in informing the public debate during an incredibly polarized time.
